What I do
As a physician and somatic practitioner I have created a room to grow to offer:
Private counseling sessions that combine talk and touch to individuals
Private counseling sessions that combine talk and touch to couples looking for support with their somatic, spiritual, and mental health
A space in which people in the neighborhood can come together, move together, and grow healthier together in group activities, meetings and events.
Embodied Counseling
for individuals and couples
Working with the body toward holistic mind-body health by combining talk and touch.
Our bodies have a lot to say, and often times we aren't listening. Many of us notice our bodies only when something is wrong, when our bodies have grown loud, bringing us pain or illness, or when our bodies have become eerily numb, depriving us of the sense of safety, intuition and joy we need to direct our lives and thrive.
When working with individuals it is my goal to empower you to meet your body both in sickness and in health. I offer you my presence as somatic practitioner and my knowledge as a physician, and with your trust, curiosity and collaboration, we will listen to what your body has to say and allow it to guide you toward greater health.
The quality of our intimate partnerships have a tremendous impact on our overall heath. When working with couples it is my goal to support each to communicate with the other in an embodied way so that the relationship itself can become more of a resource to the individuals in it.
I use the word couple loosely to describe any two (or more) people who have a deep personal relationship to one another whether it be romantic, familial, domestic or friendly.
About me –
Carolyn Mimran
Born in Brooklyn, New York to a family of SWANA origin, I have been in Berlin since 2008. Here I became a mother to one child. I earned my degree in Humanmedizin at the Charité in June of 2020, and I became a certified practitioner of the Pantarei Approach in 2022. I intend to continue my training and my education in various other body-based modalities going forward.
I have experienced the value of combining touch and talk to help people help themselves create health and happiness in their lives, and I look forward to welcoming you to my room, to grow.
I currently offer sessions in English and in German. To get to know me before deciding if you would like to work with me, you can sign up for a free 30-minutes call here. Please make sure to send me your phone number in your e-mail.

What does a one-to-one session look like?
After an initial getting to know one another, each 60-90 minute session will begin with a conversation about what is on your mind and what is going on in your body. We will then move you to the massage table where we can include your body in the conversation. You should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.
Using touch, we will explore what the topics we discuss manifest in the body. Going at a pace that is comfortable for you, I will introduce more targeted touch and instructions to help you move your breath and attention to the places that are constricted and make space for you to experience more of your emotions and more of yourself.
How will it help me to feel more of myself?
Talking about our emotions or about the physical sensations associated with our emotions is not the same thing as experiencing those emotions and sensations. Traditional psychotherapy allows us to use our rational and analytical minds to make sense of our emotional experience and our behavior, and even allows us to make changes to our behavior. This is known as a top-down approach in which the higher centers of our brains signal to lower centers and allow us to regulate our emotions. These same higher centers of our brain are not, however, able to override the signals and sensations of the body. Panic is one example of a physiological state of the body, which does not respond well to the bids of the mind. When we address the body directly, we are making bottom-up regulation possible, in which the body is able to exit the state of alarm and guide our understanding and our mind toward becoming unstuck.
Who is this for?
This approach is for anyone with a body who recognizes that their body is the one and only vehicle with which to experience this life and who would like support or counseling to grow a healthier connection to that body.
If you are having a physical or mental emergency, or if you are experiencing immediate life-threatening danger or instability that might require 24/7 care, you deserve to have that care.

Somatic Community

and events
Our direct environment and social support networks play a very important role in causing or preventing the development of disease, and when we care for our own minds and bodies, we inspire and enable others to care for theirs.
As I grow my practice, I would like to make space for people from the neighborhood to come together, move together, and be moved by one another, to create health together.
I am looking for potential collaborators and potential participants — if this could be you, please write to tell me of your needs and of your dreams, or stop by at the next event.
